Instituto Arroyo
Hondo is located in the Cadiz Bay, an area of high population
density,
blessed with a privileged environment, like the nearby Biosphere
Reserve of Doñana Park, and the very-close Cadiz Bay Natural Reserve.
The shift from the
agricultural economy towards today’s service and tourist-focused
economy depending on the natural appeal of this environment could
potentially abuse our environmental resources and this could
degenerate into a serious ecological and economical crisis.
We must encourage our
students to recognise this problem in order to get involved in
potential solutions, including the sustainable development philosophy.
At the same time, our
high-school was selected as an ITC School, which means there is high
investment for educational innovation. In addition to this, we are an
English Bilingual Centre this year for the first time.
All the teachers who
have agreed to take part in this project, have already taken part on
the former projects. For this reason, the participation in a
multi-cultural project might prove to be an important way to reach the
highest efficiency on these former projects, as well as a way to
improve their language skills, and the fondness of being a member of a
European community of teachers and students. |
