Instituto Arroyo Hondo is located in the Cadiz Bay, an area of high population density, blessed with a privileged environment, like the nearby Biosphere Reserve of Doñana Park, and the very-close Cadiz Bay Natural Reserve.

The shift from the agricultural economy towards today’s service and tourist-focused economy depending on the natural appeal of this environment could potentially abuse our environmental resources and this could degenerate into a serious ecological and economical crisis.

We must encourage our students to recognise this problem in order to get involved in potential solutions, including the sustainable development philosophy.

At the same time, our high-school was selected as an ITC School, which means there is high investment for educational innovation. In addition to this, we are an English Bilingual Centre this year for the first time.

All the teachers who have agreed to take part in this project, have already taken part on the former projects. For this reason, the participation in a multi-cultural project might prove to be an important way to reach the highest efficiency on these former projects, as well as a way to improve their language skills, and the fondness of being a member of a European community of teachers and students.
