    By the project team

Participants:  A Spanish teacher.  Twenty-one Spanish students

The proximity of a coastal pinegrove forest to Arroyo Hondo High School has always been an oustanding value to teach the ecological parameters of the natural enviroment of Rota.

This year, our first visit to the pinegrove was done with students of 1st grade. As a part of the Comenius project, and an item of the basic curriculum of the Integrated Project of 1st level of Biology, the goals of the activity were:

  • To take a first contact with the natural environment of the coast.

  • To introduce the students in the basic procedures of measurement and sampling.

  • To collect samples of vegetation and soil for further studies in laboratory.

  • To indentify potential subjecs of work in the Comenius context.
