After being pinned down in
April by the ashes of the
Eyjafjalla volcano, the German
group finally visited Rota between June 5th and June 10th.
Received by a
suddenly hot weather, they spent the first day in a convivence with
their Spanish friends who visited them previously in the
September exchange.
In the second
day we visited, as had been planned in April, the Grazalema Range.
This time however, the advanced date would dry most of the rivers and
spring, and even the vegetation began to show signs of the coming
infernal Mediterranean summer. Nevertheless, the flora still shown
its wonderful diversity, and we could study the peculiarities of the
range, including the pinsapo firs.
The third day
was employed in a visit to Cadiz, using the ferry boat to go to the
city. A sudden switch in the weather make the way back pretty
interesting, sailing in the choppy sea.
The fourth day
we visited the Town Hall, where we were greeted by Rota's Counsellor
of Education, and visited the main church. After that, we visited the
Arroyo Hondo High School. Due a problem with the schedule, the
excellent presentation prepared by the German students couldn't taken
place, but it can be consulted here:

Nature again
conspirated against us, and by the time we should visit the "Corrales"
complex, an annoying rain began and followed us the rest of the day.
We split consequently the visit and went directly to the Cuisine and
Hotel and Catering Business Course, where we learn how to make a
Spanish Omelette, and enjoyed the excellent lunch prepared by Emilio
(judged as gargantuan by the Germans and
as short by the Spanish...).
The last day we
visited Seville. We could enjoy a very kindly weather and review the
typical city sights of Cathedral, Giralda, Sierpes Street, Old Jewry
and Reales Alcazares and, after that, the activities of the Comenius
and the Exchange projects were officially over.
And then it came
the time to say goodbye or, more hopefully "see you soon...". It has
been a privilege to work with so high personal and professional
quality people. Thanks everyone.
